Effective Digital Advertising..

Posted under General Topic on Sunday, 11 April 2010 by Malcolm Savage

By installing Digital solutions on each customer desk at service reception, you can get your dealership message across to your customers without them realising you have done so. You can include manufacturers latest ads as well as manufacture video’s and just about anything in a media format you want them to see. Do they call this subliminal?

This way, you don’t have to drown your reception staff in selling techniques, the digital media sells your products and services for you. You control what the customer sees.

Believe me, this is a PROVEN method of selling extra services. It works in the showroom too. Get Kevin James Limited to install this inexpensive selling tool and see how effective this simple technique is.

TouchBase – Time to Learn..

Posted under General Topic on Friday, 2 April 2010 by Malcolm Savage

Question: Our customers are constantly asking us for help. They ask questions about the use of applications essential to their own business. These questions are basically what the operator should know, but are not trained on. Same old, same old.

But, it’s not their fault, and it can easily be rectified. Training is approached by the majority of businesses with a “learn on the job” attitude. This probably happened to you. Here’s the truth – it doesn’t work. It’s not comprehensive enough and only covers what is routine, you could be ignoring 60% of the features that your system offers. And these could make a big difference to your business efficiency.

Prognosis. You need to remove the employee from the operations desk, put him into a quiet, comfortable environment with professional guidance.  But you don’t need to break the bank to do so.

Answer.  We at Kevin James Ltd have built our own training centre called Touchbase for this very scenario. We recognise that cost may have been a prohibitive factor in the past, so we offer the facility at a fantastic price. Just measure our cost and features against an expensive hotel facility or even a part of your own building. Contact KJLtd and empower your employees.

Get out of the IT rut…

Posted under General Topic on Friday, 19 March 2010 by Malcolm Savage

While taking a call from an automotive dealer this week, I stumbled upon an alarming fact. He gets about one visit from his IT support team per year, YES –ONE PER YEAR.

Now excuse me for being picky, but in my experience IT issues are occurring all the time, be it new installations, hardware failure & upgrades,  or just preventative maintenance – the list is endless, so I would have thought seeing your friendly IT guy each week would be the least you would expect for your annual support expenditure. I don’t know of these techies’ proximity to the Comedy Store but they were certainly having a laugh at their customers’ expense.

I’ve raised this issue because at KJL we believe in support with a capital “S”. No shortcuts, no “you’ll have to wait until the next time someone comes over”, we jump at any issue that causes our customer any interruption in their business – ie their livelihood and ultimately ours.

If you experience haphazard system maintenance, or you think that your IT is just being “shored up” instead of growing,  why not talk to a company that cares about the level of service they give and the support you receive, is in most cases, way beyond contractual expectations.

Call Kevin James Ltd now on 0845 5240100, and get a highly recommended team in there to sort your IT.

VOIP. Are you ready?

Posted under KJL Partners on Wednesday, 10 March 2010 by Malcolm Savage

Some things we take for granted. We took telephone quality, costs and all its faults as the best we could get. But we really needed the internet to carry our traffic.
Affordable and commercially desirable products came along with VOIP (voice over IP), but reliability was a constant concern. Now, at last Epygi have produced an award winning range of reliable and adaptable products supporting a wide span of business needs, whether it’s for home office or multi-floor office block. Not only that, but here at KJL we can easily show you how to get a return on investment within 12 months. If you are looking to improve the quality of your calls, introduce home office opportunities to your workforce or are just keen to cut your telephony costs in half, we can demonstrate how your new phone solution can be installed overnight with zero disruption to your business. Take a look at www.kjltd.co.uk/voip for more information. For a complete insight of the benefits and demonstration, please contact our support team on 0845 524 0105

Veriton N260 – CSI Candy !

Posted under General Topic on Thursday, 18 February 2010 by Malcolm Savage

Rarely, these days, do large manufacturing companies have a brilliant product, yet resist the urge to bombard the public with the news. Conversely, we see “un-missable” products advertised that aren’t even on the market yet.
What an opportunity Acer missed with the Veriton N260. The revolutionary diamond shaped PC, not much larger than 2 Harry Potter softbacks, clips onto the monitor and, along with a wireless keyboard and mouse updates your business appeal and puts all that techie stuff in CSI Miami to shame. Not only that, but the product works brilliantly, day after day after day.
Kevin James Ltd are supplying these units at £271.18 ex VAT. Add a 19” screen for £113.22 and the wirless keyboard and mouse for just £27.07 and you’ll even have Horatio Caine sniffing round your desk !
Contact Kevin James Ltd on 0845 5240100 for an urgent delivery of this best kept secret.

Who’s calling ?

Posted under Software Development on Thursday, 11 February 2010 by Malcolm Savage

Telephone displays that tell you the incoming call number, whilst not a technology breakthrough, had it’s moments. As long as you could remember a fantastic array of 11 consecutive characters you knew who was calling you. Simple. If you couldn’t recognise it, you were participating in a game of telephone Russian roulette. Anyone was about to throw you a curve ball and you weren’t prepared. KJLtd have an answer (pardon the pun). CommPro will match the incoming number to your own DMS database instantly, and flash the caller’s name on your desktop before you pick up the call. Moreover, it will tell you details you know of this caller, their personnel details and their vehicle type, engine size, date of last service etc etc. So, impress those customers with your personalised recollection of their visits, ask after their partner and even say how sorry you are that their team is going to be relegated this season ! Call Kevin James Ltd on 0845 524 0100 to find out how you can get this inexpensive customer friendly application on YOUR system. Read More »

Electronic VHC.. Is it a good thing ?

Posted under Software Development on Thursday, 4 February 2010 by Malcolm Savage

The HOT potato at the moment with many manufacturers is electronic vehicle health checks or VHC’s. Ford, Peugeot, Honda, they are all having a go. As for the providers of the technology, they are few and far between.  SDIS (Service Department Information System) now includes the integration of electronic VHC into this already successful solution. What makes SDIS different from the rest is integrated elements into DMS data feeds for service, customer and parts data. Keeping control of the VHC process through the workshop environment has been the most important factor in the development of this module and we believe that SDIS takes this somewhat painful process, cos lets face it, the paper method was easy, and streamlines it into the normal flow of customer vehicles through the workshop process. Having SDIS running in one of the biggest workshops in the country has played a big part in ensuring that if it can work there, then it can work anywhere. So you have tried the rest, now why not try the best..Call 0845 524 0100 for a 30 day free trial.  Till next time.. Have a good weekend..

Fortunately for anyone looking to shave off support costs, Kevin James Ltd, as accredited Dealer Communication agents  can offer a cost effective and efficient service. Why not pickup the phone and discuss a way forward with us..

DMS Decisions

Posted under General Topic on Monday, 1 February 2010 by admin

Scarcely got the tinsel from under my collars and its halfway through January already. Time seems to be accelerating for motor dealerships that are stuck on Kerridge Rev7 too. The ADP deadline for “upgrade or go” is looming and in a dealership today, that’s just the kind of decision you don’t want to make. There’s expense, time and risk involved in this decision and any one of these elements can bite you if it doesn’t fit. But could it be an opportunity for improving your operation?. It could turn around the chaotic administration in your dealership into a straightforward affair which your staff could follow intuitively. Next Question: Who do I choose? Well, there’s some big players out there, Kalamazoo Reynolds, who once ruled the roost are now scrapping for Power customers. Does anyone like Power or is it too rigid to be workable in ALL departments?. ADP’s Kerridge Rev8 is reliable and well known but dealers shy away from the expense. Pinewood’s Pinnacle offering is an approved product but I heard dealers were having a hard time, some even reverting back to other DMS’s. Anyone prepared to blog on that? And how about Ebon DACS? .The team at the Ford DCS accredited KJL (Kevin James Ltd) are always available to help with some of these decisions and, with over 60 years combined automotive experience, are the obvious choice. Visit kjltd.co.uk to find out more.. Till the next time, bye for now..

I Feel The Need.. The Need for Speed

Posted under General Topic on Monday, 1 February 2010 by admin

All vehicle dealers, and that’s any manufacturer’s dealer in the UK, seem to fall foul of dog-slow broadband. Internet connections that are just a tad better than the old dial-up. There are so many pitfalls, but the big players in this market don’t appear to be spending any cash or resources in an effort to improve internet speed.
Fortunately, that’s an easy one for us to solve by installing one of the fastest and most reliable broadband services currently available in the UK. So many of the dealers we support are relieved at the speed of this service. And as it’s trouble free it is universally loved by the dealers that have already taken it on. We’ve even squeezed EasyNet and Vanco for better Ford communications to great effect. We analyse the traffic, identify the peak areas, load balance then put our partners to work to install a high speed connection. Job done. And satellite locations are a breeze too with site to site VPN’s. If you’re interested in getting a broadband service that your competitors can envy, visit Kevin James Ltd, the dealer system support specialists, at www.kjltd.co.uk
